Bamboo sax

Spring doesn't only get the mini-skirted girls out from their caves, it is also the time for street musicians. This young Tartu artist Tiit Joala had his bamboo sax with him today and I am not lying when I tell you that he was playing "Summertime" when I took the picture. Bamboo saxes are made by a hippie genius Eric the Flute Maker, they are a hundred times more comfortable to carry with you than the originally shaped instruments and they sound like heaven. Paintbrush Cult

This is the roof of the Viru Centre shopping mall in Tallinn.
And there is a young artist...

...who is into paintbrushes.

And ready it is. Yet another great paparazzi series from Andres Putting (freelance/Delfi), photos taken in the end of March 2009 in Tallinn, Viru Centre.

Eyeshadow and Mascara to Fight Post Xmas Syndrome

Xmas can be heavy so makeup comes in handy. Reminds me a quote from the film The Dead Mountaineer Hotel (1979): "Are you saying that our robots are too human?" Photo by Rosin (Kass Ting) in the bar Levist Väljas (Out of Range), Tallinn, December 2008

Merry SS-mas

The first uses of the swastika date back to the Neolithic period. If one tattoos it on one's head then, at least for me, it shows the person sort of reverses brain functions to a neurophysical caveman state. As the swastika and SS do have violent and destructive connotation in Western culture, the looks of that youngster make me feel all but happy. Though the cutting marks on his chest are way more convincing than a pair of Versace glasses or Manolo Blahnik shoes.

Summer Cannibal

Stanislav says hello from Tallinn in July where you could go topless. At the moment the weather station promises heavy minus degrees. I like the looks of this youngster, there is something alarming in him that somehow reminds me natives from a cult movie called "Cannibal Holocaust". And yet he's so sweet.

Keep your head warm / Hoia pea soojas

Your can still keep it cool while keeping it warm. Who said rasta hats are a Jamaican tradition? That is how kids were dressed for cold weather in 1982. Photo of himself provided by Kaido Veski.
