Akemuasp

"Thank you, chicken, for blowing the liver sausage in under the door," wrote one of the greatest Estonian singer and songwriters Jaan Pehk. "Yees," confirmed yet another great songwriter Madis "The Cod" Aesma. And here it is. Akemuasp trance orgy. Photo by Marti Laurimaa, May 2009

Who's that Estonian writer?

As the text on podium says she's an Estonian writer. Anybody knows her name? Photo by Rosin (Kass Ting casting agency), May 2009

...and the correct answer Eseohe Arhebamen.

Goth and Leopard

Who said leopard skin imitation is out? Far from that. It's in. Or, more precicely, on. I know a girl who made a great looking leopard skirt for her, but this African animal looks great on man as well. Very macho actually. Kill the beast, skin it and wear it! Especially if you're a well known political economist and university professor.
The gothic-flavoured overall that Rosin is wearing speaks for itself. So, finally, the spring is in the air and the grass is greengreen.

Sausage to the People!

Edgar Savisaar, the mayor of Tallinn, opened aVienna sausage stand of his friend Alexander Kofkin (actually a chain of 11 stands).

What an interesting ring. What's that, yingyangwhingwhang? Can't get a closer look, sorry. The sausage looks straightforwardly sausagy though.
I must admit my dear friend Andres can take scary photos sometimes. But the lady meant to scare or more precisly to scare off everybody who's not unemployed. Yep, the sausages were given away for free at first.

Set to fire by a rainbow

Paparazzi Andres Putting got this photo from a fire in North-Tallinn Tööstuse street. No editing, no tricks, just the Estonian water, air and fire. Photo taken 14 May 2009

When standing on stage...

...especially when doing it during one of Nordic Europe's biggest literary festivals Prima Vista, the background is everything. Estonian poet, musician and songwriter Jaan Pehk is doing good on a performance in Tartu Kaubamaja. Photo by Andra Teede.

Chick Heil!

Impress all the ladies by shouting "Chick heil!" and wearing kitchenware "helmet". Oh, and if you haven't got decent car then try showing a submachine gun. But don't do it in a municipal flower bed, the cops have to take you away then.

Artcore Granny and Much More

We just discovered young artist marek (Marek Hämmelberg) from Võru, South Estonia. Incredible works. First, I wanna see those in exhibition. Second, I wanna see those in my wall. Damn, the naked old lady will haunt me in dreams. Can't go to sleep tonight.
Pictures taken from marek's web page.

Presidential run

Toomas Hendrik Ilves is not running for president, he already is. Btw, how did he manage to put off weight so quickly? Does running really help? Or some magic pills? Call Alice, I think she knows...

A zombie rising from the ground

Paldiski - the ex Soviet Army nuclear submarine training centre, now reminding a ghost city with a large number of abandoned houses and military facilities. It is slowly growing and improving, when just a few years ago the only amenity was a small hotel called "The White Ship" ("Valge Laev") (the food is very tasty there by the way), now the town has two grocery stores,a liqueur store, a bank, a tavern and a bed&breakfast. The train station was recently renovated and holds a small cafe.
A part of the film Lilya 4-ever was filmed there. Also featured in one episode of the American TV show "Alias".
It's not far from Tallinn, about 50 km, easily accessible by train or by car.
